Enders Bridge Revegetation

Our Enders Bridge revegetation is our major project at present, and aims to enhance the natural value of the area, remediate damage caused by invasive species and support our native biodiversity. It is coming along gradually as we navigate the challenges presented to us in this very unusual time. Our first order of seedlings (around 300) from Western Plains Nursery are in the ground in four test plots. These plots form the basis of our revegetation works - getting us started towards improved condition alongside the Coliban River - upon which we can build over the coming years. We hope to get our members involved in maintenance, monitoring and supplementary planting in 2021.

For advice on plant choice we’d like to thank ecologist Damien Cook, local Landcare legend Gael Elliot, and Friends of Trentham Creeks and Reserves pioneer Jan Robertson. Species comprising this new venture include: Narrow-leaf Peppermint (Eucalyptus radiata), Prickly currant bush (Coprosma quadrifida), Tree everlasting (Ozothamnus ferrugineus), Musk Daisy Bush (Olearia argophylla) Red Fruit Saw Sedge (Gahnia sieberiana), Tasman flax-lily (Dianella Tasmanica) and Ivy-leaf violet (Viola hederaceae) and lots more.
